The Lebesgue Center offers 10000€ scholarships to outstanding mathematics students applying for a research master program in mathematics in Rennes or Nantes in France.

Subject area: Mathematics

Level: Master’s

Duration: Two years

Tenable at: The University of Rennes and the University of Nantes

Value: The stipend is 10,000 euros per year. A student applying for the first year of a master (M1) will be allowed to apply for another scholarship for the second year (M2). Foreign students will have assistance to get housing. The Lebesgue Center also provides french courses for Foreign students. The scholarship cannot be combined with any other regular remuneration. After receiving a Lebesgue Master 2 scholarship, the students are entitled to a PhD grant subject to the approval of their motivation, and provided that they obtain an overal grade of at least 14/20 at the end of the Master 2 programme.

Eligibility: The M1 scholarships are open to all students who have completed a bachelor’s degree in mathematics (or related) at the end of the academic year 2013-2014 and have not started a master in mathematics.

The M2 scholarships are open to all students who have completed the first year of a master in mathematics (or related) at the end of the academic year 2013-14.

Selection process: The selection process will be based on the academic quality of the transcript and recommendation letters. The selection will be carried out by the Lebesgue Scientific Committee and the heads of the Master programs in Rennes and Nantes.

Application deadline: March 31, 2014. Applications for the 2014-2015 Lebesgue Master scholarships will be closed on March 31, 2014. Applicants will be informed of the outcome of the selection process in the middle of April 2014.

The Ibsen Scholarships are awarded for innovative projects in the field of drama and performing arts that act as incentives for critical discourse in regards to existential and society-related subject matters concerning Henrik Ibsen and his plays. The Ibsen Scholarships were initiated  by the Norwegian government in 2007 and the first award was given in 2008. Ibsen Awards has till now handed out 23 scholarships to projects in 17 different countries.

Value: Scholarship funds amounting to NOK 1,000,000,- (approx. 120.000 Euro/162.000 US Dollars/Rs.1 crore) will be awarded to projects worldwide. The prize is awarded every two years, and the winner receives 2.5 million Norwegian kroner (approx. €300,000). There are no conditions attached to accepting the prize.

Eligibility: Scholarships are applicable to individuals, organizations or institutions within the artistic and cultural community.

How to apply: By nominations. The right to nominate is open to everyone. Self nominations are not accepted. Nominations are strictly confidential. Persons submitting nominations are bound by an agreement not to disclose the nomination to the nominee or to others until after the winner is announced. You are welcome to nominate an individual, institution or organisation that you think has brought a new artistic dimension to the world of drama or theatre.

The selection process: The committee will receive nominations and will consider these after the deadline expires. The committee members travel worldwide to see performances linked to nominated parties and have several meetings before deciding on a winner. A winner is announced on Ibsen’s birthday, the 20th March, with the official award ceremony and press conference taking place at the National Theatre’s Ibsen Festival the following September.

The award ceremony: The winners of The Ibsen Scholarships 2014 will be presented at Skien International Ibsen Conference on September 22nd and 23rd  in Skien, Ibsen’s home town, Norway.

Duration: Tilburg University Scholarships for Academic Excellence are awarded for one academic year. Candidates applying for one of the Research Master programs will have to apply for the scholarship again for their second year of their Research Master program.

Value:  A scholarship of € 5000 for living expenses. A partial tuition waiver of up to € 10,000. Students need pay only  a tuition fee of € 2,500

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must fulfill the following admission requirements, in addition to the regular requirements for admission to a Master’s program to qualify for a Tilburg University Scholarship for Academic Excellence.
  • Candidates must have revceived unconditional admission to one of the graduate programs at Tilburg University for the academic year 2014-2015.
  • Candidates must have achieved excellent study results in their relevant under graduate program. As an indication, the student must have graduated with an average result of at least 8 out of 10, or must be among the top 10% of their class.
  • Candidates must hold a non-EU/EEA passport. Candidates should fill in the Scholarship Application Form.
  • Candidates must be newly enrolled at Tilburg University.

Selection process:
Selection will be based on the the academic results in the relevant undergraduate program. The quality and content of the Scholarship Application Form. The language test score.

How to apply: Application must be made on the downloadable application form. State in the application form that you graduated with an average result of at least 8 out of 10 in a relevant undergraduate program, by providing your calculated GPA and/or proof that you belong to the top 10% of your class.

Application deadline: 1 April 2014. Students starting their program in February 2015 are also eligible for the Tilburg University Scholarship for Academic Excellence, but they need to meet the deadline of 1 April 2014.
