Summer internships in Computer Science
Duration: Internships in Computer Science should be for at least one month and could be as long as a semester.
Value: Return train fare by Sleeper Class. Accommodation will be provided to students, usually in the hostel on campus. Students will be paid a fellowship. They are expected to pay for their food in the hostel from this fellowship.
Eligibility: Students should have a background in programming, and preferrably some exposure to algorithms and/or automata theory. Normally, CMI does not offer internships to students before the end of their second year of college/university.

Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI), is a centre of excellence for teaching and research in the mathematical sciences. It was founded in 1989 as a part of the SPIC Science Foundation, funded by the SPIC group in Chennai.
Chennai Mathematical Institute is a university under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956. It is recognized both within the country and abroad
as one of the important centres in India for research and teaching in mathematical sciences.
The main areas of research at CMI are Mathematics, Computer Science and Physics. In addition to a PhD programme, the Institute conducts BSc programmes in Mathematics and Computer Science as well as Physics. CMI also conducts MSc programmes in Mathematics and Computer Science.
The Institute receives substantial support for its activities from the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), through the National Board for
Higher Mathematics (NBHM).
